I Miss Blogging!! ~ Goodness and Mercy

I have just spent the last hour hopping around to some of your blogs and catching up on your lives. I MISS YOU! I didn't leave comments everywhere I read but it was fun catching up a little. I feel so out of the loop.

I have been doing a study by Micca Campbell called An Untroubled Heart. I origianally bought it with the intention of participating in a study hosted by Lelia at Write From the Heart. That was about the time that this whirlwind came through here and changed all my plans so the study had to wait. Lelia is always hosting some great study and she a wonderful and kind hearted lady. If you don't know her, do yourself a favor and stop by her blog to meet her. Oh, and if you want to pick up the book, Christianbooks.com always seems to have the best prices. You can use search box in my sidebar to the right to find it quickly.

In any case, I did finally start the study and there is one chapter that talks about God's Goodness and Mercy.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6

According to this verse, God's Goodness and Mercy will follow me, and you, ALL the days of our lives. Not just some of them but all of them. I realized that I don't see His Goodness and Mercy everyday so I asked Him to show me, to open my eyes to His Goodness and Mercy every single day.

So when my grandaughters were still allowed to come to church despite a raging battle, He whispered to me "Goodness and Mercy".

When the girls were still brought to my house for childcare, He whispered "Goodness and Mercy".

When I open my email each day and find another email from someone letting me know that they are praying for me, He whispers "Goodness and Mercy".

When I hear Emily singing Jesus Loves Me at the top of her lungs while she goes to the bathroom (this is a huge fear overcoming), He whispers "Goodness and Mercy".

When I open a devotional that speaks to my circumstances or present thought, He whispers "Goodness and Mercy".

God has increased my business quite a bit lately and He whispers "Goodness and Mercy".

There are so many more that I haven't mentioned but I am seeing daily. He is in all of the little things but we so often don't notice. Being aware of His continual Goodness and Mercy has done much to keep me from stressing when circumstances aren't what I would like them to be, and to keep my eyes on My Wonderful Redeemer.

LORD thank you for opening my eyes to the things I have been overlooking. Thank you for your Goodness and Mercy, your unfailing love. Help me to continue to draw nearer to you and not to take you and your action in my life for
granted. ~ In Jesus Name, Amen.

On another note, I happen to know where there is going to be a great giveaway very soon and I wanted to share it with you.

I have been doing a makeover for a sweet friend who I have been thoroughly enjoyed getting to know better. Rebecca Ingram Powell is getting a new look and is planning a giveaway to celebrate.

Rebecca is a nationally known author and speaker and has a wonderful ministry. I love her heart for developing purity in our children. So be sure go introduce yourself to her and prepare to get in on her giveaway. Of course, she's a delight even without the giveaway. :)

What's On Your "To Do" List?

Life gets busy sometimes doesn't it? As a matter of fact, at times I think it just keeps accelerating with no end in sight. Many of you have noticed that I seem to have disappeared from the face of the blogosphere. Thank you for noticing and caring. :) No, I'm still clinging to an edge and working my way off this "To Do" list.

Yes, I'm one of those. I'm motivated by progress so crossing things off of my list gives me a visual point to measure my progress. That motivates me to keep going so that I get it all done. Well, that's the way it used to work. These days my "To Do" list has turned into a never ending list that always has something undone on it. (sigh) Actually, I have also learned that I enjoy being busy. I just need to keep it balanced. I like activity not chaos.

So today I thought I would share my list with you, in no specific order. This is not meant to be completed in a single day, but wouldn't that be great if I did! I didn't list the daily stuff of taking care of the girls. (TGIF) Feel free to pick up a task or two. :)
