Joseph said this to his brothers after he revealed himself to them when they came to get food during the famine. It comes from Genesis.
2. These words were spoken to Jacob by Rachel and Leah's father - was his name Laban? He said this because he promised Rachel in marriage to Jacob, but secretly gave him Leah instead. Also in Genesis.
3. This was pharoah speaking to Abraham. Abe had told Sarah to say she was his sister because he was afraid he would be killed if it was known she was his wife. Pharoah (and some others?) slept with Sarah and I think they were afraid of the trouble that was going to come upon them as a result. Genesis.
4. Naomi is speaking here to her friends, upon return to Moab - after her husband and sons have died. It can be found in Ruth.
5. This is Moses speaking to a Hebrew slave in Egypt. I don't remember the exact events leading up to this statement, but I do remember Moses had killed another Hebrew prior to this event. The guy who was hitting the other asked, "Are you going to kill me, too?" And I guess this would be found in Exodus.

Now I want to go check it out to see if I remembered everything correctly! This was fun, Edie. 1. Joseph to his brothers in ...OK, here goes Edie:
1. Joseph to his brothers in Genesis. There was a famine and the brothers came to Egypt for grain. They had sold their brother Joseph into slavery because they were jealous of him.
2. Laban to Jacob in Genesis. Jacob loved Rachel and thought he was marrying her but found out it was Leah the older sister.
3. Pharaoh to Abram in Genesis after finding out that Sarah was his wife. Pharaoh had taken her into his palace and God sent serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household.
4. Naomi to the women of Bethlehem in Ruth. She and her daughter-in-law returned after Naomi's sons died.
5. Moses to two Hebrews who were fighting in Exodus.Debbie Petrashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08235978883396499354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722057218825209767.post-36050049343082254792009-10-10T15:56:40.205-05:002009-10-10T15:56:40.205-05:00I'm not cheating or using google!
1. Joseph s...I'm not cheating or using google!

1. Joseph said it to his brothers. They had sold him to slavery (Telling his father he was dead)because they were jealous of his dreams, and the coat his father gave him. He spent yrs in prison before finally having a prominate place in Egypt helping feed those during a famine.

2. Jacob found out that Leah had been substitued for Rachel (or was it Rachel for Leah?) Who spoke it was their father, but I can't remember his name without looking it up in the Bible. He told it to Jacob.

3. In this case Abrah allowed an Egyptian official or Pharoah to take Sarai as his own wife, because Abrah was afraid that they would kill him if they knew. The Egyptian is who said this quote.

4. This must be Ruth's mother-in-law. Her husband and sons were all dead, and she was in a foreign country with no relatives, except her daughters-in-law. She told them to return to their people, but Ruth refused and said the famous quote "your people will be my people." This is used in so many marriages...wonder how many realize this is about the mother-in-law? Extra Credit - the book of Ruth!

5. I have no idea!

This was fun, because for once I was familiar with the stories. I hope I didn't flub any of them up. It was without peeking in Scripture!Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00458659497370768232noreply@blogger.com
