I've Been Adopted

Look what (who) adopted me over the weekend. She showed up on Saturday morning as I was getting setup for a garage sale with my friend Angela and she did not want to leave my side. The man across the street said he had been feeding her for a couple of days.

I took her to the vet on Monday to scan her for a chip and she had one and she did so I contacted the owner. She lives down the street from me. She came to pick up this puppy and in the course of our conversation she gave her to me.

I named the puppy Sheena. She is a smooth collie and may have some shepherd in her. She sure acts like a herding dog. Sadly she isn't house broken even though she is 5 months old. *sigh* But we are making some progress. She is a very sweet dog. Tobi doesn't much think so but she hasn't even tried to eat her yet and that's a very good sign. LOL.

This is just one of the many reasons I'm not around much these days. I miss you all!

Somehow the settings on my camera got switched to low quality so these are not as good as I would have liked for them to be. Even still, she's still CUTE!
Singing "This Little Light of Mine", and at a public school.

Just Stuff

Hey all my bloggy friends! I really feel like I have fallen down on the job over here. I have so much that I want to write about and haven't had the time to do it. I haven't even gotten to do my Project 365 posts in several weeks, but I will be back at it! :D

I thought I would just take a few minutes to pop in and share a few pics and the latest happenings. Actually, I could show you a picture of my computer screen and that would just about cover all the latest happening over here in the last month.

Thanks to encouragement from my friends Kelly and Mary Moss, I am now the Arlington Biblical Living Examiner. Yay! Stop by and check out my articles, feel free to subscribe. I'm always looking for something relevant to write about so if you have some news, a message, or a ministry that I can help you promote, please feel free to contact me. I would love to help out. I can't wait for you to see the interview I just did with one young blogger and the ministry God is building through her! I plan to get it published in the next day or two. If you're looking to supplement your income and you enjoy writing you might look into being an examiner too.

Now for some pictures. Nothing too exciting though.

Tobi found this new toy laying on the floor one day. I walked into my office and saw this. I felt a need to draw a chalk line around it.

Apparently she wasn't finished yet.

Miss Personality needed a little repair on one of her shirts. I guess you could say she was coming apart at the seams.

I finally made time to take the Christmas tree down near the end of January. As you can see I had a little help. Make that three little helps. The girls spent the night that night. Word Girl was on Webkinz when this picture was taken.

Computer girl is turning into quite a wild little goof-ball.

Filing our nails.

The girls made Valentines candy boxes.

Not to be outdone by our friends in Virginia who are experiencing highly uncustomary weather, today we got snow! We are up to about 8-9 inches with more coming in tonight. This is the most snow I have ever seen. It sure is pretty but I wouldn't want to live with this all the time. I watched my neighbor across the street shovel their driveway only to have it completely covered again in less than an hour.

Tobi is not a big fan of the snow.
Stay warm where ever you are. This global warming is some nasty stuff!

Christmas Day Photos

Hello bloggy friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Thought I would share a few pictures here.

The girls are acting out the story of Christ's birth with this kids nativity set as I read it. I told them one year we would have them dress in costume and act it out that way. They liked that idea. I think we need a bigger family.

The girls just put their gifts in Jesus' Birthday Cake Box and now they are putting the candles on the cake.

Instead of singing Happy Birthday we sing one of our favorite Christmas songs "Do You See What I See". Here we were singing the part that says "Said the King to the people everywhere..." and they decided to do a little more play acting.

Gift giving had to begin with Tobi. She wouldn't have it any other way. For those of you who don't know, on Tobi's first Christmas she watched as everyone opened their presents and the next thing we knew she was running around ripping up the paper that we had taken off our Christmas gifts. She thought it was great fun and still does. When she got her own Christmas gift she knew what to do and was even more delighted to find a prize inside all that paper. She gets several gifts every year and usually knows which ones are hers when they are under the tree, but she never touches any of them until I tell her it's time. One of these days I have to get this on video. It's really funny to watch.

The girls got an easy bake oven. Word Girl also got a sewing machine. Hmmm I must have been thinking domestic. LOL!

That's it for today. Come back tomorrow for my Project 365 photos of the week. :)

Project 365 - December 13, 2009

Project 365

I'm a bit late in posting this today but Project 365 is here again! Click on the button to join Sara and the other participants. Here we go!

Sunday - Prepared Christmas cards for mailing. I still don't have them all out yet but will by tomorrow.

Monday - Check out this cloud cover. It formed a huge circle around the area I live in.

Tuesday - Decorated the Christmas tree.

Wednesday - A little more decorating. This is a hurricane lamp. I tried to get a picture with the candle burning but it didn't turn out.

Thursday - I'm sharing three pictures because it's Miss Personality's birthday. Happy Birthday my little M&M!

Friday - I have a glass top coffee table. I seriously don't like glass top tables. I cleaned the top of the table but the light shining through the window revealed this from the underside. In the words of one of my favorite Christmas songs... "Do you see what I see?" I was actually glad to capture it in a picture.

Saturday - Need I say more?

Project 365 - December 6, 2009

Project 365

Project 365 again! The year is almost up. I have really enjoyed this meme even though I have strayed from it a little during the year. Sara has been a wonderful hostess and has kept up with this all year long. I really have to hand it to her. Thank you Sara!

I missed last week and have lost track of which pictures are for what days so just know that these were all within the last two weeks. Here we go!

I love to watch the little ones play like this. I can just see the imagination at work. You can't see it in the picture but she has about 10 little cars all lined up that she is driving back and forth across the couch.

I found this little pop-up Christmas card that Word Girl had made for a friend, then left it at my house. I love finding little tell-tale signs that they think of Christ even when I'm not telling them to. :)

It's so good to be clean again!

I finally got my inspection sticker! WooHoo!

Word Girl and I went to Hobby Lobby one day and she wanted this little nutcracker. It was unfinished wood so she used watered down paint and q-tips to stain it. Turned out pretty good.

My friend Angela thought she wasn't getting in the picture here. Her son just celebrated his 13th birthday and she told him she was getting him a pink brick. He said he was going to name it Pinky. Well I have lots of paver bricks cut in various sizes from laying a section of my patio so I created The Pinkster here.

Here he is preparing to be wrapped. Her son loved it and has him proudly displayed on a shelf in his room.

Happy Sunday!
