A Little Love From Some Friends

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I'm not really a big Valentine's Day person but I thought today would be a good day to share the love a couple of my bloggy friends sent my way in the form of awards and recognition.

First I received the KrippledWarrior's HEART of Gold from Commander Warrior "for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of Ridicule and being accused of Association with a bad element..." Click HERE for more.

"...Upon hearing the firefight in progress, the group of bloggers dropped all personal business, and sent much needed words of encouragement, that led to a regrouping and strengthening of fortifications, which raised the spirits and morale of those afflicted. Their acts were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Blog-O-Sphere and reflect great credit upon themselves and the Blog-O-Sphere in general. Additionally all aforementioned persons are meritoriously advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, in the KW Navy."

Here is my rank insignia. Thank you commander!

Then my furry friend Sitka presented me with the Prolific Blogger Award. It's not often I'm called prolific you know. Thanks Sitka! I am awarding all of my bloggy friends this one too. I would not be reading your blog if you were not prolific.

Blog Awards

Three sweet bloggy friends have honored me with with awards. Andrea at Arise to Write, Bernice at My Journey, and Rita at Meemaw Moments all awarded me with the Circle of Friends award. I consider it a very special honor to be considered a part of their circle of friends. Andrea and Bernice also awarded me with the Lemonade award. Thank you all for thinking of me. I sincerely appreciate it.

You know there rules that come attached to these awards however, I think you know me well enough by now to know that when it comes to awards, I adjust the rules a tad. Every one of you is a precious treasure in my circle of friends so grab some lemonade and enjoy the two awards you have just been given.

The Circle of Friends Award says I should tell 5 things that I LOVE to do..... Is there anything that I haven't already told you before?

1. Bernice said she was a terrible night owl. Haha. Well Bernice, I'm a very good night owl as some of you already know. I rarely ever get to bed AT NIGHT. It's generally in the morning hours. The other day I was up til 6:00 am. :o

2. I love working on my graphics. That is sometimes why I am up til the wee hours of the morning.

3. I love digging deep into the Word of God. Surrounding myself with concordance and bible dictionaries, and researching words and meanings and discovering God at the deepest level I can.

4. I love talking with others about God and His Word. Learning from each other and finding ourselves in AWE of who He is.

5. I love my Jesus, my grand-girls, and my dog Tobi.

I could go on but I only get five. So now it's your turn.

Awards, Appreciation, and Apology

My dear friend Andrea at Arise to Write and her sweet dog Sitka at All God's Creatures have passed several awards on to me over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, I have been so busy I have not had an opportunity to post my appreciation. Please forgive me for being so late Andrea. I so appreciate you.

Thank you so much Andrea and Sitka for thinking of me. You have such giving hearts, both of you. Andrea is always thinking of others and praying for their needs. If you haven't met her, please visit her blog and introduce yourself. Sitka is a working dog and shares his experiences of life and the work God has given him to do on his blog. Just looking at him makes you want to give him a big hug too.

Over the Top Award

Loyal Friend Award - Aw how sweet.

This one was from Sitka. :)

Friendship Award

Active Bloggers Award

Some of these Awards had a list meme where you tell something about yourself using one word. Normally I would jump right on that cause I love those, but I just did a very lengthy one yesterday so I don't think there is much else I can say about myself right now that you don't already know, or aren't tired of hearing. :)

Of course all awards beg to be passed on so to all of you who bless me with your visits and sweet words, I pass these on to you. I am always amazed at the friends I have made through blogging.

Praise God and Awards

Let's begin with an Awesome Praise report. If you haven't already been to Melanie's blog this morning, you need to rush right over and read what God has done. All I'm going to say is Andrew is alive and well!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You God!!!

I have had the privilege of receiving two awards this week. It's been crazy busy around here and this is the first chance I have had to post them.

The first is from one of my newest bloggy friends, Kat at Heart 2 Heart. I think most of you may already know Kat, but if not, please do yourself a favor and go visit her. She is a real gem with a wonderfully loving heart.

Kat has kindly awarded me with this Awesome Prayer Warrior award. I am truly honored to receive it and I thank you Kat.

Now the rules say I am supposed to pass it along to other prayer warriors. I know that we all pray for each other but there are a few who have a deeper passion for prayer or feel called to pray and encourage prayer more strongly. So I am going to pass this on to those people. You may have already received it or you may be one who doesn't post awards and I respect that. If that is the case then just know that you have been thought of.

The next award came from a dear bloggy friend that I have known for a little while, and his mom. If you know me, then you surely know how much I love animals. Well my furry friend Sitka at All God's Creatures, yes it is his own blog, has awarded me with this humane award. Thank you so much Sitka.

Sitka has a helping ministry working for the Lord. If you haven't met him then please go introduce yourself and tell him I sent you. Say hi to his mom Andrea while you are there too. ;)

As for passing this award along, I want to give this to all of you who have a love and appreciation for the wonderful creatures that God has given us and how much we can learn about our Creator through these animals.

Neno's Award

Andrea at Arise to Write kindly gifted me with this Neno's Award. Neno's award is given to those who love blogging, love to encourage friendships through blogging, and who help others seek the reasons why we all love blogging. Thank you Andrea for thinking of me.

I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and you all deserve to be awarded. So I am doing just that. I present this award to every one of my dear bloggy friends. Your friendship has meant the world to me.

Another Award

Two dear friends have both given me the Kreativ Blogger Award. Alice at From the Heart, a very loving lady who is always encouraging others, and then Alleluiabelle at Humble as I Go also awarded it to me. What rich gifts God has given me in these friends. Thank you both for thinking of me. I truely appreciate you.

I am required to nominate 7 other bloggers for this award and they are supposed to nominate 7 others. (Be sure to leave a comment on their blog about the award.) After they accept the award they are then asked to write a list of 7 things that their blog readers may not already know about them.

Now most of you know that I don't generally follow the rules about these awards and I just give them out to all of my bloggy friends because I really do think you all deserve them. Well this time I'm going to try to follow the rules and pick some of you for this award.

Now if I pick you and you don't have room on your sidebar for another award or it's the wrong color, or not your style, or you can't hang it straight, that's ok. You are not required to hang it on your blog unless you want to.

But I'm sure you can come up with 7 things about yourself that we don't already know so have some fun and do the post. :)

Here are my picks:

ADHD-Jo at Monkey's are Funny - I pick her because she could win a creative wrtiting contest hands down. So she certainly deserves this award.

Sue J at CREATE: Making Something of Today - The title of her blog alone says it all. She is creative in her writing and activities.

Heaven at Heaven's Journey - God is working through her to create some wonderful Name Pictures inspired through prayer. You can see some of her work at Heaven Designed.

Mrs P at The Patterson 5 - For her creatively fun family outings and adventures. :)

Alexa (Cindy's daughter) at Army Brats and Me - When Cindy got cancer, Alexa came up with the idea to give away "Faith" and "Hope" bracelets to people in every state in the country to encourage prayer for her mom. Now THAT's creative AND Love. Way to go Alexa!

Gigi and Cici at Chatty Kelly's Kids Say - They are very creative thinkers!

Zoie (Pamela's daughter) at Pinkshoelady - For her creative poem for her daddy on Father's Day.

The kids can tell us 7 things about themselves or their parents at the parents discretion.

Now 7 things about me that you don't know. Hmmm.

1. I have only ever had one broken bone in my life and I paid a doctor to break it. I worked in an ENT office and one day we got talking about what each of the doctors seemed to be best at. When we started talking about the doctor who was good at nose jobs I mentioned that I didn't like my nose. About that time the doctor walked in and the girls in the office offered that information to him. The rest is history.

2. I remember almost every detail about the house I lived in when I was three years old but I don't remember a great deal of my childhood after that.

3. I have only ever gone away for vacation once in my life and that was within the last 10 years. A friend of mine in California and I decided to go to Florida on vacation together one year. She flew to Texas where her plane connected with mine at DFW airport and we flew together the rest of the way.

4. I clean when I'm angry or upset. From the look of some areas in my house, I must be pretty content.

5. I took a silver-smithing jewelry class in HS. I would love to do that again.

6. As a kid, one of my chores for a period of time was to feed the dog. I had to open a can of dog food using a manual can-opener. To this day I can't use a manual can-opener without thinking of dog food.

7. I moved out on my own when I was 17. I had my dad's permission and blessing. I was very close to my dad, I just wanted to be on my own.

Thanks for reading along!

Kind Bloggy Friends - Edited

Edit - If you are looking for the book review it will be out tomorrow. I had a little blogger publishing mishap. Sorry for the confusion. I now return you to your regularly scheduled post.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been awarded by some very kind bloggy friends and I am behind in posting them. Please accept my apologies. The ladies who presented me with these awards have been a blessing to me. Please stop by their blogs and introduce yourself. I'm sure they would love to get to know you. I know I have.
And because I have loved getting to you, yes you, point to yourself and say "Me"... now you get it. As I was saying, because I have enjoyed getting to know you, I am passing these awards on to you.
You can use them any way you want. Just be nice. :) Here are some suggestions for those who are creatively challenged.
  1. Hang them in your blog.
  2. Create an Awards blog just for displaying your awards.
  3. Print them out and frame them.
  4. Use them as scrapbooking elements.
  5. Make stickers from them to give to your kids.
  6. Share them with others and spread the love.
  7. Now tell me your ideas when you leave a comment.
Lisa from Mama's Smitten has awarded me with the Mommy of the Year Award. You have no idea how this makes me smile. :) Thank you Lisa!
Becky from Holiday in the Sun passed along this Sisterhood Award. Now who doesn't want a holiday in the sun? That sounds great to me. Thank you Becky!
Award from Lisa
I'm a little late in getting this posted but they do say better late than never right? :D
My new bloggy friend Lisa at Speak On It With Lisa S has kindly awarded me with the Premio Dardos Award. Thank you so much for thinking of me Lisa. I really do appreciate it.
This award acknowledges the values that EVERY Blogger displays in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values with each message they write.
The rules say I'm supposed to pass this along to 15 others but honestly, I cannot be exclusive with this when all of you fit the bill so perfectly for this. I am passing this along to all of me dear bloggy friends. God has gifted you all to send His message through the personality, character, and skills He has given each of you. I am so blessed to know you all.
Enjoy your award!
Awards Again
I have been awarded again. I would like to thank the two kind bloggy friends that awarded me.
Amanda at One Sacrafice For All Time awarded me with this Friends Award. Thank you Amanda for thinking of me as a friend. :)
Now, if YOU have stopped by my blog to read my latest post then I know YOU are one of my dear bloggy friends. Therefore, I am awarding this Friends Award to YOU, my dear bloggy friend. Now don't pretend I'm not talking to you cause you know who you are. :D
Sonya at Truth 4 the Journey awarded me with the Attitude of Gratitude award for joining in Thankful Thursday with her. Thank you Sonya!
Now to those of you who just thanked me (even if you didn't write it in the comments yet) for the Friends Award above, you obviously have an attitude of gratitude so this award is being passed on to you too.
Enjoy your awards and don't stress over the post if you can't get to it for any reason. We all have different purposes for our blogs and for some, the awards throws that off. Just know that I truely appreciate every one of you with all my heart.
Also, don't stress if you can't hang the award on your blog because it doesn't serve your blog's purpose, doesn't match the decor (asthetic beauty is very important), won't hang straight, you don't have a bloggy hammer or bloggy nails, or you do have a bloggy hammer and bloggy nails but don't know how to use them. Just put them in the closet with the other cherished memories, I'm good with that. If you want help hanging them just let me know and I'll be glad to assist. These also are great re-gifters. :)
I am passing all of these awards on to these deserving bloggy friends. I did not want to leave anyone out but the rules say I can only award so many. I know I am exceeding the number of awards it says, but I couldn't narrow it down any further than this. Work with me here. :)
I will not be the least bit offended if anyone does not put this on your blog for whatever reason. I know that a blog is a bit like the home and can sometimes feel a little too cluttered. It's up to you. Just know that I thought of you.
Arte y Pico Award
My first award! Given to me by my blogging buddy Angela. I wish we lived near each other, we could get into so much trouble have so much fun together. Visit her blog Redemeed and be blessed by her heart. Thank you Angela!
“The “Arte y Pico” award was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creative abilities, whether it be writing or artwork in all media. When you receive this award it is considered a special honor. Once you have received this award, you are to pass it on to at least 5 others.”
I have found the creator of the Arte y Pico award to be a blogger named Eseya who lives in Paraguay. She created a blog for the sole purpose of giving this award to other bloggers who’s art she admires. The award has sincerely been given to many bloggers. Some, I consider worthy of receiving this award and I do not see they have been given. So, it is not that the person's blog is unworthy, they have just not been discovered by the barer.
Here are the rules:
1. You can copy the picture from my page and save it to your picture file on your computer. Then when you are ready to present it on your page, you may find it is easier to use your page elements function to paste the award to your page. And now give thanks to the person you received this award from by posting a link back to the award presenter.
2.Link to the originator of this award.It originated here . The expression is difficult to translate to English accurately. It translates to say something like, “Wow! The Best Art! Over the top!”
3. Please pick 5 blogs that have artistic accomplishment of some sort, for inspiration, design and creativity. Pay this award forward to these five persons by stating their blog title by link on your acceptance statement. Notify that person and ask that he/she accept your request to allow you to honor them. Then ask that they link to five blogs they wish to bestow the award to in the following manner on their page.
And the Winners Are...
Drumroll Please \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
Nancie at More than Conquerors - In addition to her beautiful heart and thoughtful ways she has some Great photography. Stop by her blog and say hello.
Lea at Shabby Olde Potting Shed - Her heart is both cheerful and imaginative. You'll see it as soon as you get there.
Iris at Sting My Heart - Inspiring thankful hearts all over the blogosphere. Join her in offering thanks to the King of Kings.
Heather at Mumblings of a Mommy Monk - Heather has a pretty creative writing style. You should read the Toad story! :o
Renee at Drink Offering - Renee thinks outside the box. I love that! There is creativity and wit in her posts.
Each of these ladies draws you nearer to the Lord in their own unique ways and are appreciated for doing so.
