Facebook, RFID Chips, National Database

I don't know why this guy laughs all the way through this but it is very thought provoking. It isn't over when it first appears to be. Listen to what Obama says at the end.

The Names of God and Other Stuff

Kay took a break this week and reviewed what we have learned up to this point and the timing was perfect for me because I'm feeling a bit under the weather and writing a post takes a lot out of me sometimes. ☺ Next week we will look at Jehovah-Nissi.

Today is a dear bloggy friend's birthday. Please stop by her place and wish her a ♫Happy Birthday♪.

Last week I connected with someone who was my best friend in Jr High. Our friendship had ended on a bad note and I have always wanted to apologize to her but was never able to connect with her. Over the years I have sometimes Googled her name or searched for her on Facebook but nothing. Her name is not too unique even though she is wonderfully unique. So last week I decided to check Facebook again and prayed that God would let me find her so I could apologize. I found her almost immediately.

I sent her a message with my apology and we have been messaging our life stories back and forth since then. The first thing she told me was that she had started radiation treatment for breast cancer that very day. We seem to have reconnected at a level of openness that we had way back then, as we are pretty open books with each other right now. I hope it continues, she is one of the very few people from my past that I have wanted to reconnect with. She is not a Christian and I have been praying to Jehovah-Rapha for her physical healing as well as her spiritual healing. Very quickly in the course of our conversations God provided an opportunity for me to share my worst sins and how and why I fell in love with Christ and gave my life to Him.

I am sure that God arranged for us to connect now and that He is working in this to speak to her. Would you please pray with me for her healing and that she would hear God speaking to her heart? Also that God would continue to guide the conversation. I won't give her name but initials are GR. ...Thanks!

I promised a post looking at the Scriptures as compared to Peterson's book The Message and will follow through with that soon. It's been busy and I really need the income. I would really appreciate your prayers for my finances and direction too if you wouldn't mind.

Enjoy your week! ☺

A Rich Gift From a Dear Friend

Yesterday I mentioned receiving a gift in the mail. It was a complete surprise and was from my good friend ADHD-Jo. If you don't know her, by all means go introduce yourself you are sure to be delighted. She's kind, thoughtful, witty, a blast to be around, and did I mention funny? Anyway, I thought I would share my gift with you today.
The package.

A peek inside.

A wrapped gift, a card, and lots of bubble wrap for the girls.

Tobi wanted to help unwrap it.

A Christmas ornament! How cute! It's a little chair with a gift sitting on it. You can't tell from the picture but the heart says "Special Friend" on it. I LOVE IT!

Thank you so much MY ADHD-Jo!

Giveaway Alert

Not too long ago I hosted a blog makeover giveaway at my other blog Rich Gifts Graphics and Blog Design. Karen at Surviving Motherhood won the makeover and tomorrow her new look will be up and running. To celebrate, Karen is having a giveaway of her own but it will only run for one day and that day will be tomorrow, Thursday, December 3, 2009.

I encourage you to visit Karen's blog tomorrow and get in on it while you can. Even if you don't win, you will be so blessed when you get to know her. God has used her many times to speak to my heart and encourage me. She is not only a wonderful lady, she is fun and so REAL that you can't help but feel at ease with her.

Help Me Please!

Can anyone out there please tell me how to disconnect my battery terminal? I'm feeling pretty stupid right now and that sounds like a pretty basic question but I'm used to terminals that look like these.

My terminals look like these. Look at the red one. I have found on the internet that I'm supposed to use a 8mm wrench but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it's supposed to connect to. The end that is sticking out is the only part that isn't round and I can fit a 5/16" socket on it but I can't turn it. It doesn't actually look like a bolt either so I don't want to waste my time trying to turn something that is actually welded on. I know I sound like such a girl but I am and this shouldn't be this hard. If it is the end thing then I'll take suggestions about how to make it easier to turn cause it's on there tight!

This is what it is supposed to look like when it is disconnected. Thank you.

What's Wrong with Blogger

The Blogger peeps must be working on new features or updates. I can tell because I have been having trouble with everything I've tried to do in here for the last few days. (sigh)

It won't let me upload pictures right now, and I ran out of time. Have to take Computer Girl to school now and run some errands. I will be back later to try again.

Have a great day!

Sunflower Seeds

I have recently developed an addiction to sunflower seeds. The kind you crack open and eat one at a time. It's a great way to lose weight. You work off the calories while you're eating and you don't bother to eat anything else til they are all gone. It can take several days to get through a 14.5 oz bag. I have lost 2 lbs already.

Who would have thought there could be so much useful information on the outside of a bag of sunflower seeds. And yet...

Slogan: Eat. Spit. Be Happy.

Accolades and Encouragement: Congratulations! You're a Seeder! Seeders are unique. They're cool, confident, independent, active, and hard working. They know that eating DAVID (insert little R here) Sunflower Seeds makes what they do more enjoyable. Things are better with DAVID because they're a snack and an activity. Experience SNACKTIVITY (insert little TM here).

Instructions: Crack the shell with your teeth, eat the seed and spit the shell. Experienced seeders pop a handful of seeds in their mouth and store them in one cheek, then transfer a seed over to the other side with their tongue, crack it, then eat the seed and spit the shell.

There you have it. Now go - Eat. Spit. Be Happy.

Dear God

Dear God,

I'm having a little problem and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me out. It's about this aging process. I'm having kind of a tough time with it. I was just looking at a picture of myself taken a year ago and noticed I only had one chin back then. And these jowls are most unbecoming. Do you think it would be okay to tweak the gravitational pull just a tad? I suspect it's due for calibration.

I'm sure it would help to decrease, or even eliminate the pain I get in the balls of my feet when I stand or walk for more than an hour. I could then go back to walking miles and get in shape again, I know you are concerned with my health and fitness.

I'm sure my back wouldn't hurt when I sit on the floor, and my knees would once again be able to move me from that position to a standing position without complaint. I believe my scale would give a more accurate weight reading as well.

The girls have started trying to play with the jiggle on the back of my arms lately. The gravitational pull is clearly a bit too strong since I am exercising with weights but the girls still want to play with the jiggle. There are a few other places that seem to have more of jiggle these days too and I am so thankful that you have allowed those areas to escape their attention.

Thank you God that you hear me and that you promise to take care of all my needs. This one little thing would be most helpful.

What's On Your "To Do" List?

Life gets busy sometimes doesn't it? As a matter of fact, at times I think it just keeps accelerating with no end in sight. Many of you have noticed that I seem to have disappeared from the face of the blogosphere. Thank you for noticing and caring. :) No, I'm still clinging to an edge and working my way off this "To Do" list.

Yes, I'm one of those. I'm motivated by progress so crossing things off of my list gives me a visual point to measure my progress. That motivates me to keep going so that I get it all done. Well, that's the way it used to work. These days my "To Do" list has turned into a never ending list that always has something undone on it. (sigh) Actually, I have also learned that I enjoy being busy. I just need to keep it balanced. I like activity not chaos.

So today I thought I would share my list with you, in no specific order. This is not meant to be completed in a single day, but wouldn't that be great if I did! I didn't list the daily stuff of taking care of the girls. (TGIF) Feel free to pick up a task or two. :)

Wake up (This starts the day on a positive note and I get to cross something off my list right away.)
Spend Time with God (Do this all day too. And never cross it off the list.)
Mop Floors
Laundry
Change Sheets
Vacume
Dust
Clean Glass Tops
Clean Windows
Clean Bathrooms
Wash Truck
Groceries (Make list)
Clean Carpets
Repair Patio
Make Blog Designs
Hedge Shrubs - Front yard
Hedge Shrubs - Back yard
Mow
Edge
Spray Weed Killer (Yes I do. If you want to pull my weeds I'll stop. I don't do this often.)
Spray Insect Killer (Yes this too. My grandaughters are covered in bug bites. I don't do this often either.)
Sewing (Fix-its)
Go to Home Depot (Take list)
Schedule Meeting Room
Get DBA
Go to Bank Do it again
Setup Google Docs
Find Press Release Template
Design T-shirts
Print and Cut Flyers

So what's on your list?

Let Your Voice Be Heard with Glenn Beck and FoxNews

Join with Glenn Beck and FoxNews to send a message to government about what you really want.

The following is taken from Glenn Beck's website. Click the link to read the full article.
Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.

12 Values
Honesty
Reverence
Hope
Thrift
Humility
Charity
Sincerity
Moderation
Hard Work
Courage
Personal Responsibility
Friendship

The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

You Are Not Alone
If you agree with at least seven of those principles, then you are not alone. Please send a digital version of your picture to: wesurroundthem@foxnews.com and then stay tuned to the radio and television shows over the coming weeks to see how we intend to pull back the curtain.

Commercial - Not Much Else

I think God is giving my brain a rest. It doesn't rest very often I assure you, but I've been praying about something to post about and nothing is coming to mind.

Some of you know that I don't watch much television, but lately I've been watching FoxNews quite a bit. You know the same commercials come on again and again. I have decided that Geico gets my vote for best commercials. They are clean, simple, not pushy, non-violent, cute, and funny. It is truely refreshing. I have to say they have a very creative advertising department.

This just cracks me up. But it does remind me of all the gekkos that hang out near my back door waiting for me to let Tobi out so they can try to sneak in the house before I close the door. Some make it, and some don't. It's very sad.

I just love that little gekko.

Project 365 - Sunday February 1, 2009

Project 365

It's time for Project 365 again. Sara at Make Music From Your Heart to the Lord is our hostess in this fun meme. Please go visit her, say hi, and join in the fun.

I missed on Sunday so here's Day 2. I received an unexpected package from my friend ADHD-Jo at Monkeys are Funny. Hmmm, I wonder what it could be.

Still Day 2. I didn't get all of the contents in the photo but here's a partial shot. She read in one of my posts that I have a goodie box for when my grandaughters learn scripture verses and sent me a box full of incentives and goodies for the girls. ADHD-Jo is the bomb diggity.

Day 3. It was cold and rainy outside today. Whenever Tobi comes back in the house on rainy days, I lay a towel on the floor by the door and she lets my wipe her feet. Then I use the towel to dry her off. She thinks that part is just for play and so tries to get the towel away from me while I'm trying to dry her off. In the end I throw the towel on top of her. She came to realize that I think she looks cute running around with this towel on her so she leaves it on and thinks she's cute.

Day 4. Ice and sleet. Brrr.

Day 5. Picked up a few groceries.

Day 6. The moon and very bright star. Does anyone know what star that is?

Day 7. Progress in the decluttering project. I'm moving it out of the house and into the garage. Then I'll probably donate stuff away. I had thought about having a garage sale when the weather warms up but it's looking like I don't have quite as much as I originally thought. Yay!
That's my week.

Time Out

I'm taking a little time off. Just a few days, or maybe a week. I need to prioritize a bit and put God time back in front of blog time. Have a great week!
