God Cares About the Littlest Things

I dropped the needle. Ugh. I'm already feeling stressed and frustrated. I don't have time to search for a needle. I have no choice. If I don't find it, someone, or one of the dogs, will get stuck by it.

I don't move. I look at the top of the coat on my lap and search for the needle. Maybe it fell to the floor and into the carpet. No! My eyes scan the carpet underneath me hoping to see the glisten of the needle. Where is it LORD? Maybe it got caught in the coat as it fell to the floor. I slowly flip back the section that I was sewing and search some more. I push on the floor with my feet to roll the chair back a little. Please show me where it is LORD. I carefully lift the coat off of my lap watching to see if anything falls. More frustration. I wonder how long I will have to search.

My eyes happen to look at the spool of thread sitting on the desk. There is the needle laying on the desk right next to the spool. I had watched it fall off the desk. Oh LORD thank you so much! Tears.

Without a doubt God picked up that needle and placed it on the desk. This is not the first time He has done that for me. That He would stoop to pick up a needle that I had dropped, and lay it in a place where no one would get stuck by it, and where I would see it, is a most profound statement of His Love and His Care for me. He knew how badly I needed to see that right now. If He is so concerned about and involved in this little problem, why would He not also be concerned about and involved in the big one that looms over me? That was what He was saying. I love the way He speaks.

Thank you so much my LORD. Thank you.

Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:22

Amen sister. When I was a teenager my Mom would lose her keys and after trying to find them on her own she would ask the Lord where they were and He'd lead her right to them every time. As a teenager I thought that was coincidence but as an adult and having had Him help me in the same way, I completely understand.

Oh, Edie, it's so good to see your coming back. I have missed you.

Several years ago when I would lose something I would pray, God you know exactly where ??? is, would you show me and it would not be long before I found whatever I had lost. Sometimes it would be a day or two but He has never failed me.

I love your new look. It is so refreshing. Bless you. Sorry I did not call yesterday, maybe this afternoon if that is okay with you.
I Soak in God's Presence on Sunday along with Peggy at Amazing Grace,
but will take some time to call you later.
Love you, my dear friend,
AE

Hey my friends! It's so good to see you all again too. Thanks for the compliments on the blog design. It was looking so dull and drab I had to do something.

Just like all of you, I always go to God when I lose something. This one was especially meaningful to me because He was actually responding to another concern. We have a truly Awesome God don't we!

This is an awesome story, Edie. God is so good to watch over our details. And I love that He speaks to us about it at just the right time!

Yesterday my son thought he lost a game for his DS. Oh, he was so upset! I was praying the God would show him where it was, but he couldn't find it.
Then last night the two of us were folding sheets (which he was supposed to fold the previous day. Just sayin'! *wink*) and as we lifted the first one out of the basket - there was his DS game!
Sometimes God lets us wait a while... but He is always good!

Dropping by to wish you a Merry Christmas sister and this post just increased my faith all the more. My son is awed every time we go somewhere and it's crowded and when we pray, there you go, one always leaves in front of us so we can take that spot! He is awesome!!! Take care.

Karen, I love that story! Yes He sometimes makes us wait but He is always faithful!

Rosel it is so good to "see" you again! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I never thought to ask God to open up a parking space for me. I love how you and Karen are teaching your kids to trust Him.

God IS the finder of the lost.
Once I was lost. But now I am found. :)
One of these days I'll post on my blog my lost pen story and I'll link back to you. ;)

Hey, friend, after all your talk this weekend about liking "little" things I discovered God had given me another prayer cue.
Know that I'll be praying for you whenever "little" or "details" comes across my path.
After re-reading this post, the cue seems all the more fitting.
Love you!

Thank you so much Karen! You are a huge blessing to me and I'm so glad God knit this friendship together.

Know that I am praying for you as God brings you to mind. That has been quite frequently lately. :)

Much Love to you!

As stated by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the one and ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh 42 pounds less than we do.

(And by the way, it really has NOTHING to do with genetics or some secret diet and really, EVERYTHING to do with "how" they eat.)

P.S, I said "HOW", and not "what"...
