If You Want Me To

"...We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you." 2 Chronicles 20:12

This scripture has been on my heart for a little while now. It is sometimes all I know to say and I know several others who are leaning on this one too.

The other day as I was making lunch for the girls, I had the cheese out and was slicing it and noticed that Tobi was laying down near the doorway to the kitchen. I could see her in my peripheral vision. She lay there looking perfectly relaxed but I noticed that her eyes were on me the whole time. Watching my every move wide-eyed and with great anticipation.

She could be relaxed because every time I get the cheese out I give her some. Because she knows that, she was able to sit close and wait patiently, but her eyes, and stretching of her neck said she was wondering if this time would be different. Would I forget her this time? Would I ignore her this time? Do I still love her? Will I provide as I have in the past or just walk away this time?

That cheese was not a need for Tobi, but I planned all along to give her some just because I love her. It was as though God was showing me how I look from His perspective at times.

What would Tobi have done if I had not given her any? She would have stayed loyal to me anyway.

If You Want Me To - Ginny Owens

The pathway is broken
And The signs are unclear
And I don't know the reasons why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to

No I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will walk through the fire
If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone

So when the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering that Your love put You through
And I will walk through the darkness
If You want me to

Cause when I cross over Jordan
Gonna sing, gonna shout,
Gonna look into Your eyes and see You never let me down
So take me on the pathway that leads me home to You
And I will walk though the valley
If You want me to

Yes, I will walk through the valley
If You want me to

I love the lyrics of that song you shared sister Edie. I haven't really have any pets because of my allergy. But if given a choice, I love to have a dog than a cat. I remember a conference about "are you a dog or a cat worshiper?" Because dog represented those who love to seek the Master while the cat doesn't really do anything but the opposite. Love to be pampered. It's not about us. It's about Him.

Thanks for this awesome reminder to remain trusting in the Lord no matter where we are in this journey. Blessings to you and may the Lord continue to guide you and protect you.

It was great to hear from you today. I am never sure who is still reading because I get very few comments anymore. For better or worse, Facebook seems to have diminished the blogging comments. I was excited to see the Titus2InAction blog. Warren and I have become acquainted over the last year and I didn't realize he was involved in that. I will definitely be following. I was feeling particularly discouraged today as a mother and wife and had just had a prayer/crying/counseling session with the Lord where I vented that I was tired and felt like a complete hypocrite in trying to teach Titus2 to anyone because I feel like I am failing at it miserably in my home. At 32 years of age I am still fighting the demons of my childhood that cause me to be very defensive with my spouse, I fight perfectionism, and so so on. So anyway, I am just sharing this because that was why I posted that Psalm today. I didn't really expect it to encourage anybody else, but glad to hear that it did.

Blessings and I will definitely be back again! :-)

What a perfect picture drew for us here. I do like this song too. Did you see the one I posted last week? Mercy Me--Move? It encouraged me a lot.

We will keep walking, moving, whatever, wherever,...we won't give up...
You are not alone my friend!

This seems to be a recurring theme in my world these days. Am I supposed to be here? Am I doing what You want me to do? There are some really tough places--is this my doing or Yours on my behalf? I'm recalling Twila Paris' "Will I trust You, Lord?"

He professes His great love, His promise of faithfulness, His provision, and so much more. Will we look at Him and truly know that this is all true...that this is all for real...?

Be filled by His Word!

I so needed to read this today. Sometimes we just have to keep walking forward, holding His hand, because walking away is no longer an option. Blessings for you and praying for a job for you too.

Hugs, Heaven

This is one of my favorite songs. Not many people know of it; it cracks me up how much we are alike.
