Get Serious Today - Pray

I am committed to fasting and praying for this nation today during voting hours. I am asking you to join with me. A lot is at stake here. Even if you don't fast, please pray for this nation every time you think of the election. Once sentence to God is heard just as well as 100.

While I am not praying for any political party, I am praying that God's people will get out and vote and that He will direct the outcome that will result in the candidate who will most stand for the Biblical morals and values that I hold dear. Remember that God can come through at the 11th hour and 59th minute. Do not lose hope or give up before it's over.

My own thoughts...

I am a supporter of John McCain and Sarah Palin and have been spending too much time on the computer reading blogs and websites to try to dig deeper into the events of this election. I don't believe the polling results that the bias media is reporting are accurate.

Moms 4 Sarah Palin is a blog I have been reading and applaud Tami for her efforts. She has endured some intensly crude verbal abuse on her blog as well as death threats to herself and her family as a result of her political efforts as a Republican in favor of McCain/Palin.

Through her blog I also found HillBuzz; a blog of PUMA voters who stand against Obama, and are applying their efforts to put McCain in office. I have to applaud their efforts and determination to put the best interest of this Nation before political party. The link goes to their post on why they believe that McCain will win this election.

The Marston Chronicles - Another PUMA voter site that is showing statistics of why they believe McCain will win.

PUMA is a coalition of Clinton supporters who are not backing Obama. It claims to be a coalition of millions. It grew by leaps and bounds almost immediately after it was formed and continued to do so. From what I have read it appears that the Democrat Party might very well be divided and that this might be the beginning of REAL bipartisan politics. Here is the originating site. Just Say No Deal

I have talked to friends and even family who are undecided. It breaks my heart. I have no problem being offensive, however. My points are simple: "How can you, as a Christian, put a leader in place that will support what God says in the Bible is wrong" This doesn't even hit on any of the political deficits. We've forgotten how we became a country. I will be praying as well.

Our country was created on the platform of "In God We Trust." Some folks have stopped trusting. But we know ultimately God is in control.

Unfortunately, if you read the bible and believe in prophecy, you know that times will be bad, and continue to get worse until the end times. So while we pray, we also have to ask ourselves what we think the results of the prayers should be (i.e. God's will). I don't think we can rewrite the bible. So I pray God's will be done!

God is in control, what ever the outcome He will work things out for good. Now is the time, we must trust in God, even if times seem hard and bleak. No matter who wins or loses.

We were out early (6:30) voting in a line that went all the way out of the rescue squad, out to the street. We've never seen so many out in the many years we've lived in this area.

May prayers are with the voters may they pray for God's guidance as they cast their vote. May they vote in ways that most closly match God's moral laws. May all peoples be peaceful and united in supporting whoever wins, trusting God reigns over all our leaders.

Thank you Edie for covering this potentially historic day in prayer.

I stopped and prayed before I wrote this comment.

Thank you for this post. It's going to be a long day. And as Mrs P said, it is raining steadily here and is expected to all day. And yes, the lines are expected to be long.

I remember waiting in line with small children was difficult, even when the lines were short. So, thank you to the moms who will deal with the rain, crying babies, diaper bags, sippy cups and goldfish....yet will take the time to vote. And to the ones that don't have children....please be patient. Offer them a hand, smile at their children and thank them for being there and voting.

I checked out the Moms 4 Sarah Palin blog and was impressed. I'm on my way back now to read some more of it.

I'm parying too. I cast my absentee weeks ago. In the area where I am, people seem to have forgotten the moral issues at stake and are looking at this thing a strickly racial. That grieves me. In God's eyes there is no black or white, only right or wrong.

Amen, dear friend.

Just this morning, I wrote:

"There is only one thing that is sure. There is only One person in whom Truth, Light, and Life are absolute (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8). There is only one way that I can vote today, and that is according the the principles and commands of God's Holy Word. I resolve to honor the sanctity of His created life. I resolve to uphold marriage as He designed it. I resolve to support His people, Israel.

No human leader will perfectly fulfill all the duties and responsibilities, but, to effectively govern with Divine justice and righteousness, one must have the Lord Jesus Christ as the cornerstone of the administration. I resolve to cast my vote for the person who best represents God's heart and best meets His criteria. As a Christian, I must be so resolved, for one day, I will stand before my Judge, Who will hold me accountable for choices made within my knowledge of Him.

May all of His children stand in agreement with His absolute Truth, and may His will be done today ... on earth as it is in heaven.

Edie,

I too have supported John McCain. A family member called this morning saying how scared she was. I assured her that God is still in control and we have to put our trust in Him.
