Playing in Webkinz

This is Computer Girl playing in Webkinz. Are you familiar with Webkinz! I am extremely particular about letting kids on the computer because of either the viruses or malware people try to put on your computer, the trash you can so easily run across, or the objectional message of the games even for children. But that all changed when my friend Angela told me about Webkinz.

Webkinz is an online game for kids that is fun, nice, educational, and developmental. I just love it and so do the girls. You purchase a Webkinz animal at a participating retailer. It is a stuffed animal that runs about $15.00 - $20.00. It comes with a code that allows you to go to the Webkinz site, http://www.webkinz.com/ , where you register and name your webkinz pet. Once you are logged in the website opens to a full screen application which makes it difficult to accidentally open other applications.

After registering you get a room for your pet when you register and can buy more rooms to add on to your house, clothes for your pet, toys, food, etc. You earn money to buy stuff by playing games. Don't you wish we had it so easy! Of course if you like games, your kids may never get to play with it and you will never get anything done. When Word Girl got her first Webkinz I played with it all the time. Then I discovered blogging. Like that helped.

This is a great gift idea for kids of just about any age.

This is a picture of one of the rooms. You can decorate them any way you like.

Giving Freddie a bath.

Ahhh. Life doesn't get much better than this.

She is so beautiful!! That smile.
You know my H came home one day last week and brought me a present I was so excited and it was one of those pets, a lab pup, looked like mine~~ just 132lbs different. haha
But yes it's so nice that she has a safe place to play a game and that you don't have to worry so much.
I don't think she will want to share any of those M&M's...
Thanks for sharing she is precious

Such a cutie!!!! I've seen the webkinz at Cracker Barrel, and thought they were really cute, but didn't know what they for. My son is too old for it, though, and alas... no grandkids yet from Thing 1 and Thingamabob.

Hi Edie!
I guess I'm missing all these neat things-my son is too old now, but I know he would have loved that.
I noticed the M&M's right away!

The creativity of people is a constant amazement. I wish I would have thought of such an imaginative game - and then marketed it! LOL

CJ loves to set up the rooms! If she could set up the rooms without playing the games, I think she'd be even more pleased! She even took RJ2's webkinz claiming that she was "too young" to use the computer, so she adopted Bunny, and made more rooms, of course.

(And she's working on a blog site! ACK!!! What have I done?!)

My nieces and my friends girls play webkins and love them! My son had something similar. You didn't buy the animal but the website was puppy pals, or pet shop or something like that. You played , earned points to buy food, more pets, toys for them etc. You also fed, walked and played with your pet. He played it for a while but then got tired of it so our little pet died.
he wonders why I won't let him get a second dog!

My 9 year old daughter loves these. In fact, she just got some birthday money and bought a new pink frog. We are very careful with on the computer too. Jody

Isn't she a doll! The computer is for all ages. My son used to play this. My dog always got the stuffed animal. He thought it was his. (Graphic uploaded) Did you have a fun birthday? God has me praying for you.

Edie,
I purchased and found out about webkins when I was eating at a cracker barrel restaurant and the lady at the counter explained to me about webkins and how much her children loved it, I just bought it for my wife because it looks like our dog. But now that I see this on your site I am glad to know that these webkins are such a blessing.
These little girls are beautiful, you are truly blessed take all the pictures you can, because they grow up fast. I see those little eyes and it reminds me of my boys when they were that age.

God Bless
