A few weeks ago after the girls' dad picked them up from my house, they got into a little accident on their way home. No one was hurt but it scared the girls a bit. Well recently the girls have been saying our prayer to give thanks for our food before we eat. As they go down their regular list of "Thank you for" and "Help so and so with such and such" they now include "Help daddy stop crashing into cars."
LOL!!!
I recently had a conversation with Olivia on our way home from school that led to my trying to explain the Holy Trinity in the most basic way. So I said something to the effect that God was One but with three parts that have different jobs. I explained that those three parts were God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. So the next day it came up again only Emily chimed in something from the backseat. Olivia started to explain the three people One God concept to Emily (who had already listened in on the conversation from the day before) and she said "I already know, it's God the Daddy, God the Kid, and God the Holy Spirit.
LOL!!!!
Kids can be SO funny!

And, they're not wrong! How wonderful to know God as "daddy," and Jesus as a "kid," since He was one once, and the Holy Spirit (even just by this name, since I'm sure the concept can be a little tricky to understand). All Scriptural and not something they will forget--fantastic!
I have thought of starting a second blog for cute things my kids say. They come up with so many adorable things! May we should have "Kid Say Saturday" or something. LOL!
You are blessed to be such a vital part of their lives and THEY are blessed by you. Keep up the good work, granny! (LOL!!) What do they call you?
So not only did they hear you but they retained what you said. Now that's awesome.
We've added to our nightly prayers, "If JM ever gets another car, please don't let him crash".
(Court date Dec 18....we're expecting at least a 90 day license suspension...that's 90 days we can take him off of our insurance, that went up an extra $5,000-$5,500 a year. Love those teenagers!
Children are so teachers in these moments. Lovin' it with you.
How wonderful! I love it! She got it! What a blessing you are to their lives (and them to you too!) :)
Leave it to children, right?
Children have a much better perspect of things...simple and refreshing! Hehehe!!
Enjoy those gifts Edie...and thank you for sharing them with us.
Beautiful, Edie. I love the wisdom of children when it comes to simply loving Him.

Sometimes adults don't realize that kids(in the room, in the car) are listening in and later are slightly embarrassed at what the child heard...Emily heard and understood an excellent conversation.
Our children are definitely little sponges soaking up every word we say and retaining it, good and bad. What a beautiful blessing it is that your granddaughters are retaining the good stuff,
Love,
Sharon
Too cute! Isn't it funny how we truly do learn some things from the words our kiddos speak about??
Thanks for sharing the conversation between you and your girls. They understand a lot more than we give them credit for sometimes.
AliceE.
Edie my heart just EXPLODES WITH JOY when I read things you do and tell your grands....
Praise God that you're teaching your grandchildren about God the FATHER, GOD THE SON-(KID) heehee AND GOD the HOLY SPIRIT.... I felt glorious reading about this. GOD BLESS YOU EDIE.... GOD BLESS YOU.
Love Lea'
