The Lord Directs Our Steps - Part 2

Picking up where I left off yesterday, if you didn't read yesterday's post you can read it HERE.

During that time, the economy got worse and I was wondering how I was going to make ends meet. Many people that I knew had, or were looking for a room mate to help share expenses. Car-jackings and freeway shootings were becoming a big problem and my daughter started hanging out with the wrong crowd and getting into lots of trouble. Things were terrible at work and I was at a breaking point. I knew it was time to find another job.

Just about the time that all of these things were weighing heavily on me, my cousin told me that his wife's younger sister had decided to move to Texas with her dad when she graduated high school, which was a couple of months away. My cousin had made plans to drive from Texas to California to pick her up and said that if I wanted to move, we could arrange for all of us to make the drive together. The seed had sprouted and roots had taken hold.

I knew the decision had already been made but it took about a month before I could actually voice it. It was hard leaving my Grandma and other family members but I was sure that this was God's plan for me. I gave notice at work, sold almost everything I had and drove to Texas. On the way I remember feeling like I was going home even though I had never been there.

I had almost no belongings and only a small amount of money but within six months of my move, I had purchased a brand new house. Owning a house was never even a thought before this time because it was so expensive in California, but God had it all planned out. Years in advance He orchestrated the circumstances that planted the seed of a thought to make this move, and He developed it to fruition through a series of unrelated events to bring it about in His perfect time.

Thank you Lord, for taking care of me and guiding me in the day-to-day. Thank you for this home and all that you have provided. I love you my Ish. ~ In Jesus Name, Amen

His unseen hand is at work in your circumstances today. Trust Him to direct your steps.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11 MSG

I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8

How awesome! I love it when the Lord directs our steps AND when we listen :) I guess I never realized you were from California....
I was born in Waco while my parents attended Baylor but I don't remember it all! We went on to missouri and then finally OK which is where I am today!

Thanks for sharing with us and encouraging us all to seek the Lord and listen for HIS voice!
Bless you Edie

If you have so much peace and joy deep in your heart, then you know that you are where God wants you to be...He moved me from one country to here, then moved me from one job to another...But in all of those changes, they felt right!!!and they always happen in His perfect timing, not ours.
I love Proverbs 3:5,6 and I always share this with my son everyday and asked him to etch it in his heart. For we can plan all we want, but it is still the Lord Who directs our steps...Glory to God! Have a great day and God bless.

My Dad always said hind sight is 20/20. I love how, when we look back, we can see the hand of God positioning us exactly where He wants us exactly when He wants us there.

And then He led you into blogging and a business of your own. Can I say what a "cool" God we serve? He know exactly where we are supposed to be and do and if we obey Him, even though we may have problems along the way, He is still with us always guiding us in the right direction. Reminds me of a song "Without Him I would be nothing, without Him I'd surely fail,". There's more but I can't remember all the words. I'll have to look that one up.
Thanks for sharing,
Luv u,

Ahhh, God's timing and plans are perfect. So glad we can trust Him - even when things don't look right on a surface level. But we can trust, we can sell everything and go where He leads, knowing He will take care of our everything.

Thanks for sharing your story, Edie.

W@e can run. But we can't hide. Our arms aren't long enough to spar with God. But that doesn't stop people from trying. Great advice. I prefer the NIV version of Jeremiah 29:11

"His unseen hand is at work in your circumstances today."

I think this more often than ever now, and it brings such great peace! When I think about getting frustrated, I have to remember that there is "a time to every purpose under Heaven." And knowing that I'm following His purposes, even when I don't understand them so much of the time, is me taking that faith step. "In all my ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct my paths."

Thank you for sharing this part of your story with us!
