The Invisible Woman

I'm not feeling especially typative this week. I have been reading about all the mom's who courageously shuffled their little ones, and not so little ones, off to school in the last week or two. I have seen tears, and celebrations, and planning, and lists, and lots of hard work mingled with lots of love. You are seen.

Tomorrow is 9-11. Those that were lost on that day were seen. Those that acted courageously were seen. Those that lost loved ones were seen. All those firefighters and police officers who did, and those who do put yourselves at risk daily to help others. You are seen.

El Roi - The God Who Sees
He sees where you have come from and where you are going.
He sees what you need as well as what you don't need.
He sees what He wants to make of you and
how He's going to achieve it.

I'm not sure if it's b/c it's late and I'm tired or if I am just overly emotional but this made me cry. It was exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you. Thanks for showing that it's ok to be invisible to some of the people we love best.

What's important is that we are not invisible to God. He sees.

Great post Edie, and I love your comment the patterson 5. We are not invisible to God. Sometimes we feel we are, but he is always there.

Edie, this is one of my favorite videos ever. I LOVE Nicole Johnson. If you've never read her book, "Fresh Brewed Life", I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for the reminder. Sometimes I do feel very invisible. But not tonight. :-)

Oh, BTW, I finally got that meme posted! I had so much fun doing it...thanks for the tag!

Edie - this one was for all of us moms, and we appreciate it so much! I don't know if I'm invisible...my kids at least know of my existance because every 5 seconds they yell "MOM!" But I do feel unappreciated sometimes. So thanks for this.

Edie,
I don't know if we will ever meet in person but I just want you to know... even though we are cyberspace friends,... you're still not invisible to me.
I really enjoyed viewing this video and really needed to hear this today.
Blessings to YOU, my sweet VERY VISIBLE FRIEND.

Hi Edie. I think I told you before that I seldom watch the videos that people send if they are over 3-4 minutes.

I've watched and enjoyed watching all of the videos you have sent out this week.

A friend of mine and I often comment that if we do what we are supposed to do, then it goes unnoticed. (ie...you may go into a dirty bathroom and think or say "Yuck. This place is dirty!", but seldom do you go into a newly cleaned bathroom and stop and think or say, "WOW! This place is clean!"

I need to show her this video. She's been having problems with being invisible lately.

Thank you.
I love your blog,
Mary JO

(you may NOT call me Mary Jo. MY ADHD ME Jo is acceptable.....but the Mary Jo ended in 8th grade. It is packed away and HOPEFULLY it is invisible....otherwise I will search and hunt and find your middle name too!!) haha...I'm really not a stalker. (That is the 2nd time I've typed that this week.) Really I'm not!

Have a great day! :)

I saw Nicole Johnson perform this skit once. Love it!

Regarding watching the praying mantis eat? What a trip!!!
I once saw it eat a grasshopper - head first. And, I'm not kidding, the grasshopper's back leg was twitching. EEEWWWW!

May we remember to "notice" the people around us today! And help them not to feel invisible to us!

Thank you Edie for I know you are touching many lives through your blog, keep your heart in tune with His, love to you and prayers up to Him!

Edie, I just love that our God is El Roi ... the God who sees! Just today, I was sending encouragement to another cyber-sister from Genesis 16:13: "She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: 'You are the God who sees me,' for she said, 'I have now seen the One who sees me.' "

Praise Him that He sees us ... even in our desert place ... even if no one does ... even if we feel invisible.

I'm always encouraged when I "stop by for a visit" Edie.
Thank you for being the faith-filled woman that you are! God bless. :)
