Remembering 9/11

Taking time to remember and honor those who were directly affected by the devastation of the 9/11/2001 attacks on the USA. For a few months after this tragedy, people all over the nation began to turn their attention to the Lord. But as the memory, and feelings of helplessness began to fade, so did the realization of our dependence on our Sovereign God.

Today we need Him as much as we did then. Our nation is still on the brink of disaster. Please take time today, to pray for the people of this nation as you remember this horrific event.

A girl needs to be so lost in God, that the guy is going to have to seek HIM to find her!

Amen to that. It is so easy to forget when the feelings of emotion subside, but may we be a country that "Never Forgets!"

Edie, you are so right. I pray our nation, this sleeping giant, will wake and rise once again as it did 8 years ago. Only this time, not be lulled back to its slumber, but be intentional about taking our country back...and protecting her people from another tragedy like 9-11.

Edie,

This is a wonderful reminder of just where it all falls back on. God's mighty shoulders! Let us always be on our knees praying for this blessed country and the people within it.

I should really quit saying the same comment on every single post about 9-11 today, but what is on my mind is the similarity between God's people in Biblical times and people today. In times when things are going pretty much okay-ish, the people turn to their own ways and to unrighteous things and forget about God, but in times of complete tragedy and fear, people turn to God. They know innately, I think, that the only real comfort, the only real hope we have is in the Lord, even in the absence of understanding this truth.
