Sunflower Seeds

I have recently developed an addiction to sunflower seeds. The kind you crack open and eat one at a time. It's a great way to lose weight. You work off the calories while you're eating and you don't bother to eat anything else til they are all gone. It can take several days to get through a 14.5 oz bag. I have lost 2 lbs already.

Who would have thought there could be so much useful information on the outside of a bag of sunflower seeds. And yet...

Slogan: Eat. Spit. Be Happy.

Accolades and Encouragement: Congratulations! You're a Seeder! Seeders are unique. They're cool, confident, independent, active, and hard working. They know that eating DAVID (insert little R here) Sunflower Seeds makes what they do more enjoyable. Things are better with DAVID because they're a snack and an activity. Experience SNACKTIVITY (insert little TM here).

Instructions: Crack the shell with your teeth, eat the seed and spit the shell. Experienced seeders pop a handful of seeds in their mouth and store them in one cheek, then transfer a seed over to the other side with their tongue, crack it, then eat the seed and spit the shell.

There you have it. Now go - Eat. Spit. Be Happy.

haha! Edie, I think my sister has hyjacked your blog. LOL!

Hey, I had entered the wrong date in my kids blog for the auto publish(I am 2 weeks ahead, just had skipped a date). So go back and look. It is SO CUTE!!! Okay, I'm biased, but it's pictures of my kid. "No pressure" indeed. LOL!

Eat. Spit. Be Happy. Love that!
I have loved ss since I was very young. Now my kids are enjoying them, too! And it is the only time they are allowed to spit! :) What fun!

Edie I never took you for the sunflower spitting kind but whatever. If you want to read some funny package info, try reading vitamin water bottles. They are the best. I have to ask, do you do the chipmunk thing and keep a whole bunch in your cheek?

Edie,

I could never get through a whole bag. It feels as if my tongue swells up and I have a permanent pucker from all the salt content.

Great post however, I still keep eating them regardless if I can't talk afterwards!

Okay. I took your advice 1 time too many. My wife freaked at the pile of seeds on the carpet. So I reread your instructions and sure enough, there was no information on being outside before spitting. Next time I loose internet privileges for a week. "I was only following orders" got me no where.
Nothing is sailor-proof...
Love ya,

OK, after leaving in a huff over my computer problems (ie..user problems) I am back.

We sell Davids (insert little R ) in our vending machines. They are the little 1.75 oz bags and are great for on the go. (Love 'em)
They even have an extra bit of info on them.....just for the "Sunflower Seeds For Dummies" handbook.

"Kid Safety...While sunflower seeds are a healthful and delicious snacking choice, they are never recommended for infants or toddlers, as the seeds can pose a choking threat to their safety."
Think of all the infants they have saved!!

I looked at a package of Planters ( hhmmm no little R here) and they had none of that important information.

You know, this was funny the last time I wrote it. I think I forgot something......

BTW, "Great Post" ... :)

It's a talented marketing guru who can come up with something like that to make sunflower seeds so special.
Kinda makes you think Why didn't I come up with that???
Well, because I am not a talented marketing guru, but that is entirely beside the point! LOL

So funny. I haven't had sunflower seeds in years...they have to be salty though. Mmm.

Just wanted to come and say hi since it's been a while...time slips by, that's for sure! I'm hoping to be a better blogger this fall as soon as I get my life somewhat organized. Hope you are doing well, my friend! :D

I see that other people find it hard to imagine you spitting, too, but I loved the post.

My ADHD Me said...

I think I CAN imagine you spitting...haha.

FD initiation...had to chew and spit tobacco at least once. They were SO hoping I would get sick. I didn't. Didn't even turn green. HOWEVER, when the important part came up, the spitting, it went about as far as to run down my chin....bleck!
Then we got a call while my mouth was full of tobacco. Had the hardest time trying to get rid of it. Won't be doing THAT again!

ADHD-Jo - I don't spit... And apparently you don't either. LOL!
