Project 365 - January 18, 2009

Project 365

I'm joining Sara at Make Music From Your Heart to the Lord in Projcet 365. Share your week by taking a picture a day and posting them all on Sunday. Click on the image above to find out more about it.

Here we go.

Day 1 - Sunday

Now that the living room is finally painted (woo hoo - happy dance) I am in the redecorating stage. This is the fun part. I embellished this metal wall hanging with a cross that I got for Christmas. It's perfect for this corner wall.

Day 2 - Monday

Offline for a few hours while TW tests my modem to try to find out why my *turbo* internet speed isn't so turbo. No solution yet but at least they actually see the problem.

Day 3 - Tuesday

Bought myself a 2009 Calendar.

Day 4 - Wednesday

Ooops! Missed a day. :)

Day 5 - Thursday

Doctored a scratch on Emily's leg. You should have seen her before I took this one. She was walking around with both pant legs pulled up like that. She was also smiling til I said I wanted to take a picture. Poor baby. *wink*

Day 6 - Friday

Kitchen light went out. Replaced both bulbs. Good for another 7 years now. :)

Day 7 - Saturday

Reinstalled all the switchplates and outlet covers in the living room and entry way. I don't like plain switchplates so I texture painted them and embellished them with crosses.

Hope you enjoyed your visit!

I'm glad I stopped by before leaving for church. This is a FUN project and I enjoyed taking a peek into your 'world'. The baby girl is so precious. I love that pouty face. She was pouring it on so good for the camera (smile).

The cross on the wall is beautiful! I never would have thought to refinish the light switches. That's interesting.

In the master bath I have a wall that the toilet faces that is bare. I was thinking about a shadow box of all Christian things. I've not done a shadow box but saw a beautiful one once. Any ideas? Bless Sunday to you. Off to second service.

That's a great idea for the light switch plates. I have a whole bunch of remodeling and painting that needs done. From flooring to new furnace, living room furniture, new stove,etc.,etc,. I hope to get some of this done with some of the life insurance money, after the funeral bills are paid. I still haven't received the life insurance, it's taking a long time. Luke 10:27 that you have posted everyday on your blog is one of my favortie verses and we sang that song today in our modern worship services. I thought of you when I was singing away!

I like your pictures especially the switchplate. I have a very dainty looking one in my bathroom. I found it at a store somewhere. You are so talented.
May God Blessings be upon you today and always,

Edie,

You are so my girl...I love those switch plates! I did that in my old house...decorated them all up! I love what you did with yours!

Loved your pics! Happy Sunday, my friend.

Do like your creative touches everywhere, even on knees!

Could use a really cool switch plate in the one room I painted last year. I like what you did in your room. My problem is that my walls look like that, so I almost need something plain to go with.....tee-hee!

You're off to a good start!

I love your switch plates! Where did you find the crosses?

You are SO talented. For instance, in the first picture the piece you have under the cross.....I tried to do something like that once and it looked like a vase with a stick in it.

Love the pitiful look on Emily's leg.

I am SO far behind. Going to read your past posts now.

OK, now I'm commenting on your previous post.
That was fun. Very original and believe me....mine isn't as interesting.
Also...just wanted to note....you were going to try to draw or paint THAT!! I struggle with stick men. AMAZING.
Love the snow in Texas.

POOR EMILY. ;( I feel SO BAD for her!!! I hope she "recovers" soon.
When my niece was a baby she learned to cough*on purpose. It was HYSTERICAL. She'd do it for attention and my SIL would say, "Ohmygoodness, do you have a bad cough?" and... you'd hear COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH* EHEHHEOAOAOAO
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your switchyplates!!! GOOOO GIRL!

You're so artsy-craftsy. (Can I say artsy-fartsy on a CHristian blog?) I'm not creative. But I write like crazy! :-)

Hi Edie,

I received your message and your challenge to post the photo afterwards :( I am SO not creative!

I like the ideas you gave me. I still have to buy everything but I do want to make a shadow box for that wall.

Thanks my friend.

The embellished switchplate cover is such a good idea! And I love the first picture with the cross added to the metal wall hanging. I'm starting from scratch as we set up housekeeping here in Argentina. We have a long way to go before we're 'settled'. Although there are a few bigger department stores, they don't have the variety and quantity that we found in the U.S. I'm always on the lookout for smaller stores tucked in here and there that have fun and unique things for the home :-) We didn't bring much furniture either and haven't been too impressed with most of what we've found so far. So our living room still only has two chairs from IKEA that we brought with us, and a wicker chest that's serving as a coffee table. But I'm enjoying the process!

Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. I'd never seen a pine cone that big either! I was thinking I'd hate to be underneath the tree when it starts shedding those things :-)

That bathroom was actually in one of the nicer restaurants in town. The custom of putting t.p. in the trash and not the toilet is pretty common here. Not sure why. It's that way in a lot of other countries too.

And yes, we stocked up on the cheddar -- the hubby bought 4 wedges. They're pretty small and we ate one in two days! Of course, that's after not having any cheddar for 5 months and pretty much eating some at every meal :-)
