Bible Quiz - October 16, 2009

It's time for another Bible Quiz. This one might be a little tougher than the last one. Try it without looking up the answers. Then if you want, go ahead and use the Bible to find the answers. Using the internet is not allowed.

  • Who said it?
  • Who did they say it to?
  • What were the circumstances?
  • Extra Credit - What book of the bible is it in?
  • Bonus - What is the common denominator in all of these scenarios?
1. "Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the LORD is with you."

2. "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son."

3. "This is what the LORD says: 'You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.' "

4. "Has not the LORD anointed you leader over his inheritance?"

5. "I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you."

Answers will be posted on Saturday.

Ha! This one is much tougher, no one is taking you on. I'll give it a go.

2. Elijah said this to the widow. She only had enough food for one more meal for her & her son, but by faith the ingredients lasted because she was obedient to God (through elijah).

3. Daniel...I'm just guessing here because of the Nebuchanezzar reference.

I dont' know the rest. Pox on me for not keeping up with my old testament reading!! :-)

Well, I don't really know any of the answers right off the top of my head and I have been reading the Old Testament every day for the past two and a half years, with Fash. So, I guess that is pretty bad.

Your site loaded way faster with this new look. I like it! Maybe it's because of taking away the moving parts. I have trouble when people have black backgrounds, too. Those comment rooms load very slowly. I wonder why?

I'd like to have you work on my blog. Perhaps we should start talking seriously about details.

I only know the last one: It's Jonah speaking to those on the ship who were taking him far, far away from Ninevah, except that God had other plans and a big fish waiting below. And the sailors tossed him overboard, in fulfilling Jonah's request. You can't run from God.

This is the most popular book for "Miss Sue" to read in our Fri AM childcare class (helping out the mom's Bible study).

Time to settle on an OT book for study. Curious about your Titus 2...sounds cool!
