Project 365 - Late October 25, 2009

Project 365
Go visit our hostess Sara and everyone who is playing along.

Monday - It was so nice outside that I decided to spend my time with God on the patio near the garden.

Then this guy showed up. He was about 4" long and way too close for comfort. I stopped and got rid of him and some other bug (there is a reason why they are called bugs) showed up. I got rid of that one and a big red wasp showed up. I gave up and went inside.

Tuesday - I was driving by this residential street just a couple of blocks from my home and this is what I saw. This was not an accident. This street was taped off and even residents weren't allowed in. I took these pictures from across the street where I was out of the way. There was a helicopter circling overhead for a while.

I never found out exactly what the situation was except that someone was barricaded in one of the homes and threatening suicide. I have to believe there was a bit more to the story than that. Helicopters and SWAT teams don't generally get involved in a suicide threat that I am aware of, but maybe I'm wrong.

There is a daycare center on this corner in the picture. The situation was not at the daycare center. That is the SWAT team van in this picture. At one point we did hear 8 shots fired. We guessed that they were from the SWAT team.

This is the daycare center. They sent snipers up on the roof. I guess they could see the house they were watching from there.

News crews. All of this had been going on for 2 1/2 hours before the news showed up.

While all of that was going on, this formed in the sky above the homes.

Then as the sun came out from behind the cloud these rainbows appeared on both ends.

Wednesday - I was praying over a situation that has been concerning me lately, as I walked in the house from the garage I happened to look up at the ceiling and this is what I saw. God is so good!

Thursday - Hmmm, coffee looks a little weak.

Ooops.

Um, excuse me, but, um, how did you "get rid" of that cute, innocent grasshopper? Just wondering.

Gee whiz. Lots of action down in your neck of the woods. I do hope everyone got out of there alive!

Is that one of those carafe-less coffee makers? You just stick your cup under there and push the button? That's the kind I would like to have. I usually put coffee in my maker before I turn it on though. *grin*

Have a grrrreat week!

Oh and one more question. Is that ceiling fan near the cross wall? Just wondering. Because if it is, I think the cross wall is having an effect on the ceiling fan. You know what I mean?

That's why we need coffee in the first place...sometimes, we need to wake up! :)
Sounds more like a "hostage" situation with all the cops and SWAT showing up like that. But what beautiful skies and the rainbow?
I love that shadow from your ceiling fan.
God bless and have a great week!

I often say I NEED coffee to make coffee. We set up the coffee maker the night before so we can just push start in the morning.

The cross/ceiling fan is so cool, and so GOD!

I can't believe they let you take pictures at the SWAT scene.

Edie your coffee will be darker if you use some grounds. :)

Yesterday I saw someone walking in the woods across from our house and I went over to see what he was up to. After our little body incident, one can't be too careful.

Edie,

I too have done that with our coffee maker before. At least yours got a good cleaning by running water through it plain. That's what you were doing right?

Love the cross on the ceiling. God has a great sense of humor!

Hey Edie,
Loved reading about your week and the coffee "mishap"....been there, don't it (usually when I needed it the most!). Love the ceiling fan cross.....God is so good! He displays His comfort and love in the most unsuspecting places sometimes! Yeah God!
Sweet Blessings!
Jackie

I always look forward to Edie pictures. And today was no disappointment. Big bugs and motorcycles. Love the cross, but the coffee left me grinding my teeth.
Oh yeah, the fear of grasshoppers and locusts is called "acridophobia."

I don't do bugs either!

What a scary and tense situation you had going on. I've never seen a SWAT team in person, which I guess is a good thing. ha.

The coffee pot picture....TOO funny!

Wow! I've never seen a grasshopper up close before!
And, boy can I relate to the "weak" coffee! I've done that a couple of times in the last month or so!

If the cross was a sign, what about the coffee-less cup and the grass hopper. ;)
